If your RV refrigerator, Dometic or Norcold, is not operating or not
operating properly, we suggest you firstly go to our
Fault Diagnosis page. If your RV
refrigerator needs replacing the following is the process we use to rebuild
RV refrigerators.
All
our RV refrigerators
(Dometic,
Norcold and selected other) are
completely rebuilt. This includes removing the RV refrigerator cooling unit from every
refrigerator and the following work:
The
RV refrigerator cooling unit is
stripped of foam and sandblasted. The
RV refrigerator cooling unit is
cut
open and washed out to remove the old charge and any foreign material that might cause a
blockage. All rusted
pipe is replaced or welded. The boiler is
cleaned out and checked for flow. The
cooling unit is pressure-tested at twice its working pressure. The RV
refrigerator cooling unit is again sandblasted and then painted with a
primer and then main coat for better rust protection. The boiler is painted with specialized high
heat-resistant paint.
The
RV refrigerator cooling
unit is
then placed into the refrigerator cabinet. It is then foamed-in so that it is a perfect fit
for that specific cabinet. The cooling unit
is then charged. The RV refrigerator
is then washed and test run in our specially constructed hot-room to ensure that the refrigerator
will operate even at 100F.
